CHIROPRACTIC 👏🏻 IS 👏🏻 NOT 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 SOLUTION 👏🏻 TO 👏🏻 EVERYTHING 👏🏻
Sure, there is a time and place for it, but it is NOT the only solution to body issues.
Now I’m not a nutritionist, vet, or body worker by profession, but I’m a trainer and owner and I make the decisions for my animals who can’t.
I’ve always tried to stray away from any form of bodywork because honestly all it did was bandaid the issue and create a need for me to maintain the work. If my horse wasn’t hurting, why should I create more maintenance??? That was until I met my now current bodyworker, Lindsay.
I first watched her work on a friend/clients horse who was recovering from EPM. A disease I did know quite a bit about and full recoveries can be rare. This mare has made a full recovery. This mare is living her best life.
Now, I’m not saying that what they did is always going to work on every horse, but they gave this horse a chance. A chance that worked and now she’s seen miles across our beautiful state of Wyoming.
At the time, I had the big beautiful roan you see below. This Hancock gelding was ranch broke when we got him. He couldn’t pick up his right lead to save his life, and it felt like he was jumping into every takeoff. I knew he needed work, so I gave Lindsay a call.
She came to look at him, but only stayed for 10min. and told me that she didn’t want to work on him until I had his teeth done. She recommended an amazing neuromuscular dentist (another story for another day) and I gave her a call.
I have NEVER seen a bigger difference in a horse, than I did in this roan after just getting his teeth done. His bad attitude (I blamed on the Hancock in his genes) went away. Oh and that right lead came within a week. Now all we had to do was build strength and muscle memory.
As a trainer, this was where I started thinking about my horses health differently. There are so many factors that can affect your horse’s mobility and attitude. Your horse may not be lame enough to tell you they’re hurting or stuck. We can’t keep trying to use chiropractic as a blanket fix-all.
This doesn’t mean there isn’t a place for it, but I can tell you that chiro wouldn’t have helped my past few horses.
Think outside of the box when it comes to your horse’s health.
Lindsay has so many certifications and has spent thousands of hours (and I’m sure dollars) for the type of training she has. She’s qualified. And there are plenty of other practitioners doing what she does around this country. Do your research, find them, and give them a shot.
This is not an ad for Lindsay and her business, but an honest review and a topic I’ve been wanting to address. Not once has Lindsay taken my money because she needs the client, she only helps me because she can help my horse, and if she can’t, she will refer me to someone who can. That’s an honest Business .
